Le Creuset Features and Benfits

Highest Quality Vitreous Enamel
All
Le Creuset products are coated with the highest quality vitreous
enamel. This hygienic, impermeable enamelled surface means Le Creuset
can be used for marinating food prior to cooking or for food storage
after cooking. Le Creuset pan and lid edges are finished with a ground
edge.
Heat Sources
Le Creuset
enamelled cast iron cookware can be used on the stovetop, in the oven
and under the grill. Le Creuset is suitable for use on all heat sources
including electric, gas, ceramic, halogen wood combustion and
induction.
Heat Distribution and Retention
Cast
Iron is a superior conductor of heat. The even thickness of the base,
walls and lid means that heat distribution is even and energy
efficient. Furthermore, the heat retention properties of the pieces are
second to none, ensuring that the pot stays hot for second helpings.
Matt Black
A
matt black finish is used on grills, woks, frypans and sauté pans. It
is a hardwearing enamel, which once seasoned will, with use, take on
its own surface ?patina? which makes it ideal for searing and browning.
Wooden Handles
The
handles on Le Creuset Cherry Red and French Blue frypans are made from
solid teak or beechwood. These should not be used in the oven.
Phenolic Knobs and Handles
Phenolic
black knobs are fitted to the lids of French ovens and saucepans. The
handles on all saucepans and the Granite and Stone frypans are also
phenolic.
Innovative New Product
Le Creuset
is constantly introducing new products to keep up with contemporary
cooking trends. Examples of this are Le Creuset's Tagine and Tarte
Tatin.
Fantastic Colour
The Le Creuset core range of colours includes - French Blue, Cherry Red, Granite and Stone.
Energy Efficient
Le Creuset
cast iron is an efficient material in absorbing and distributing heat,
therefore, there is no need to use high heat. Best cooking results are
obtained on low to medium settings; using Le Creuset on high settings
may result in the enamel chipping.
Table Use
Le Creuset
is stylish enough to be taken straight from the kitchen to the table
where its wide choice of colours co-ordinate with almost any home
décor.
Easy to Clean
The
Le Creuset enamelled coating is easy to clean. It is not recommended to
wash Le Creuset in the dishwasher. To clean Le Creuset use the
following guidelines:
- Once you have removed the food from
your pan fill with hot water and a squeeze of detergent. This makes it
very easy to wash later. - For stubborn marks you can use a
nylon scourer with Le Creuset Crème Cleanser or liquid washing
detergent. We do not recommend powder cleansers or metal scourers, as
these are very harsh and will scratch the surface. - For
really stubborn stains, mix a little baking soda (about 2 teaspoons)
with some liquid washing detergent to make a paste, and rub over the
stained area. The satin should come away with a nylon scourer.
Benefits Associated With The Weight Of Le Creuset
- Distributes the weight more evenly.
- Ensures moisture and flavours are sealed in by heavy, tight fitting lids.
- Prevents pans from ?dancing' on the stovetop.
- Increases pan's longevity by preventing warping or distorting.
- Increases fan's longevity by preventing warping or burning.
- Retains heat longer, which keeps food hot when serving.
